Childhood Maltreatment and Foster Care Research Group

Are you doing DPhil or Postdoctoral research on
• the effects of childhood abuse or neglect?
• child protection law?
• life stories of those with foster care experience?
• national or international policies on foster care?
• therapeutic interventions for childhood trauma?
• any other topic related to childhood maltreatment and foster care?
We’re setting up a new discussion group for researchers across these
related topics to meet up and find out about each other’s work. Members
will get a chance to present draft versions of their research write-ups and
grant proposals for discussion, with the group providing a ‘first step’ peer
review of friendly and supportive feedback. Meeting researchers from
other disciplines will give you practice in communicating your research
and may open up avenues for future collaborations.
Interested?

The first group will take place on Wednesday 22nd May from 4.00-5.30pm
in the Department of Education at 15 Norham Gardens.

Please email me if you would like to come along, and let me know if you
are currently working on a piece of writing on which you’d like feedback
from the group.

I look forward to seeing you there.
